Construction Standards
Not all cabinets are built the same. The difference between a $15,000 kitchen and a $75,000 kitchen often comes down to how the boxes are made, how drawers are joined, and what moves when you open a door. Here is what we look at when specifying cabinetry for our clients.
Box Construction
Furniture-grade plywood (3/4") is significantly stronger and more moisture-resistant than particleboard. We specify plywood boxes across our semi-custom and fully custom lines.
Drawer Joinery
Dovetail joints on drawer boxes are the gold standard — they resist racking and outlast mechanical fasteners by decades. All our custom-tier brands use dovetail construction.
Hinges & Drawer Slides
Soft-close hinges (Blum, Grass) and undermount drawer slides are standard across every line we carry. They should not be an upcharge — they are the baseline.
Door Construction
Full-overlay doors create a furniture-quality look. Face-frame construction with partial overlay is standard on mid-range lines; frameless full-overlay is standard on premium lines.
Finish Quality
Catalyzed conversion varnish finishes are more durable and chemical-resistant than standard lacquers. Our custom lines use multi-step finishing processes for depth and longevity.

We measure your kitchen or bathroom precisely, photograph the space, and document all relevant dimensions including ceiling height, window and door locations, and appliance positions.
3D Design & Cabinet Layout
Our in-house designers produce a 3D rendering showing your cabinet layout, door style, finish, and hardware. We refine the design until it matches your vision exactly.
Proposal & Material Sign-Off
You receive a detailed, itemized proposal with cabinet specifications, accessories, and installation costs. We review every item together and finalize your selection before ordering.
Delivery & Professional Installation
Cabinets are delivered to our facility, inspected, and installed by our experienced crew. We handle all shimming, scribing, and fitting to ensure perfect alignment.

Stock cabinets ship in fixed sizes (usually in 3" increments) from warehouse inventory — fastest lead time, most economical. Semi-custom cabinets offer more size flexibility, finish options, and interior accessories with 4–6 week lead times. Fully custom cabinets are built to exact specifications with any wood species, finish, and interior configuration — 8–14 week lead time. Our designers help you determine which tier fits your project.

Do you only install cabinets you sell, or can you install customer-supplied cabinets?
We specialize in full design-build projects using the brands we carry, which ensures quality control and a single point of accountability. We do not typically install customer-supplied cabinetry from outside our lines.
